Understand the Bean Type
Not all beans are created equally. The two main species of coffee beans sold commercially include the Arabica and Robusta beans. Robusta beans are generally regarded as the lower quality of the two due to their bitter flavor profile. Robusta beans contain double the caffeine of Arabica beans, but the flavor is incredibly harsh. Lavie Coffee only procures the highest quality Arabica beans for our coffee roasts.
Never Settle for Pre-Roasted Coffee Beans
Coffee beans should never be roasted in advance to then sit on a shelf until purchased by the consumer. High-quality coffee beans should always be roasted right after an order is placed. After coffee beans are roasted, they lose the intricacies in their flavor within 2 – 3 weeks. If a package of roasted coffee beans has sat on a shelf for months, it will have a duller and blander taste compared to beans that were freshly roasted.
Lavie Coffee roasts all beans to order in small batches to ensure a consistent roast. Performing our roasts in small batches also allows us to bring each type of bean to its perfect roast. Beans collected from different countries or regions will require varying roasting recipes. The roast masters at Lavie Coffee have perfected our recipes for the perfect roast every time.
You may purchase your coffee beans whole or pre-ground for convenience. For the best possible flavor, we recommend grinding your own beans at home. However, if you lack the supplies to grind your own beans, we do offer several different grind sizes depending on your preferred brewing method. Each brewing method has its own ideal grind size for optimal flavor.
